Arsenal told to pay £34m for Serge Gnabry

According to a source, Arsenal have been advised to spend €40 million (£34 million) to get Bayern Munich winger Serge Gnabry back to the club this summer.

In the coming weeks, the 26-year-old will enter the final year of his contract with the Bavarians, sparking curiosity about his future at the Allianz Arena. As of yet, no agreement has been reached on a contract extension.

As a result, the Gunners have been linked with a transfer for their former star in recent days, with SportBILD reporting that Bayern has placed a price tag of €40 million (£34 million) for the Gunners.

However, recent reports imply that a free transfer once Gnabry’s contract expires in June 2023 is more likely at this point, yet Bayern has established the asking price regardless in case they are able to sign the Germany international during the forthcoming transfer window.

Gnabry departed the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2016 to join Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga for roughly £3.8 million.

However, just a year later, Bayern bought the winger for about £7 million, and he spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Hoffenheim.

Since joining the Bundesliga winners at the end of his loan period ahead of the 2018-19 season, Gnabry has 63 goals in 171 appearances for the club in all competitions, helping them win 12 trophies during his time there.
