Ghana Premier League

In a nail-biting clash in Week 26 of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, FC Samartex secured a hard-fought 3-2 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

League leaders Samartex wasted no time asserting their dominance, capitalizing on early opportunities to keep the pressure on Chelsea. However, it was Samartex talisman Evans Osei Wusu who broke the deadlock, netting two goals before halftime.

After the break, both teams adjusted their tactics, with Chelsea launching a spirited comeback. Stephen Amankona pulled one back for Chelsea in the 72nd minute, but Samartex responded swiftly with a goal from Baba Hamadu Musa.

A late surge from Chelsea saw Amankona find the net again in the 79th minute, but it wasn’t enough to overturn Samartex’s lead, securing them the victory and maintaining their top position in the league standings.

FC Samartex will play struggling Asante Kotoko on week 27 at the Baba Yara Stadium. Berekum Chelsea will take on reigning champions Medeama.
