Black Satellites coach Desmond Ofei says his team’s style of play is to dominate the midfield in a three-back system. His comments come on the back of a post-match reaction as regards the strength of his team and their style of play in the ongoing African Games Men’s football tournament.
Ghana have conceded one and scored five goals in their last four matches having gone blunt in the opening game against Congo at the Accra Sports stadium.
‘’If you watch our previous games you will know that this is our system. On the ball, we play with a back three because we want to dominate the midfield with four mid-fielders and that’s what we have been doing throughout the tournament’’ Desmond Ofei told journalists in a post-match interview.
‘’Some of the boys are fasting so it’s tiring. So at the right time we decided to switch to a back four and solidify the midfield more with two holding mid-fielders and play with double wingers and it helped. That’s how Jerry managed to get the assist to our striker Ephson’’ he added.
The Black Satellites started the tournament with a goalless draw against Congo before beating The Gambia (3-1) and Benin (1-0) in the other group A games. The win over Senegal is their third straight victory in the tournament.
