Ghana’s Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has lauded the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for coming up with the Women’s Football Strategy.
According to him, the strategy is a great initiative to develop the women’s game in the country.
Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif said this when the Women’s Division at the Technical Directorate led by Ama Brobbey Williams called on him at his office in Accra on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
‘’The Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo Government recognizes the need to invest in the development of the Women’s game in all aspects.
‘’When you look at infrastructure, the Government has constructed over 152 Astro Turfs across the country and they are not only for men but for women and girls to have access to these facilities so that the girls can start from the grassroots level looking at the number of talents we have.
‘’The girls can play whilst in the primary and junior high schools to the senior high level and this Women’s Football strategy is a great initiative to develop our women’s game,” Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif said.
The Women’s football strategy seeks to offer pragmatic programmes and interventions toward the development of Women’s football for the next football cycle.
Under the theme “EMPOWER HER GAME”, the Women’s Football Strategy will run from 2023 to 2026 with major attention focused on grassroots development and promotion of the Women’s game.
Through the strategy, the Ghana FA is looking at enhancing and developing a brand strategy for Women’s Football.
