GFA Interventions and policies for Women’s football since 2019

1.       GHc 50, 000 for Premier League Winners and GhC30,000 for FA Cup Winners and medals.

2.       In 2021/2022 Season GFA expanded WPL teams from 18 clubs to 20 clubs (Executive Council decision)- Each club now plays 38 matches

3.       WPL has well defined Merit Awards

4.       GFA introduced Motivational Awards such as

i.            Nasco’s best players’ reward

ii.            Nasco’s best player and coach of the month awards

iii.            Nasco’s best player and coach of the season award

5.       Malta Guinness ‘best player and coach of the month awards

6.       The introduction of the women’s Super Cup competition in 2021/2022 season

7.       Women’s Super Cup winners and Runners-up received prizes of GHc 30,000 and GHC 10,000 respectively.

8.       Betway sponsorship money of GHc 40,000 to each club

9.       Opportunities for club CEO’s to travel with national teams

10.   Maiden and subsequent participation of WPL Winners in the Women African Club championships ( Hasaacas Ladies F.C. were Gold Medalists for the 2021 Edition

11.   The increase in the number of clubs from one to two in the women middle league competition for Northern Region.

12.   Increment in prize money for League & FA Cup champions. League winners, Runners-up, and Third Place Prizes (of GHc 30,000 and GHc 10,000 for WPL and Women’s FA Cup for 2021/2022 Season)

13.   Expansion of the Women’s FA Cup and serious improvement in the Women’s Division One League.

14.   Inclusion of greater number of people from clubs in the technical and management committees of National teams.

15.   WPL Club Representatives were invited to attend the world cup in Qatar 2022.
