Mauricio Pochettino admits he has no idea whether Kylian Mbappe will sign a new contract at PSG or not.
Sky Italy report that the French World Cup winner is set to sign a new contract extension at PSG instead of signing terms with Real Madrid.
Pochettino, who claimed earlier this year that both he and Mbappe will “100 per cent” be at the club next season, said he will not be making a statement on the attacker’s future.
“I don’t know what his decision is,” he told a press conference on Friday. “It is a personal decision for Kylian Mbappe, linked with the club. There is a lot of information and rumours at the moment.
“We always respect this club and Kylian Mbappe’s position. He has had a contract until the end of this season, as it the case with other players.
“When this happens, the club and the player have to speak about such topics. I do get information as the coach, but I’m not the right person to make a statement which isn’t my responsibility. That lies with the player.”
The France international’s current deal at the Parc des Prince runs out this summer and the 23-year-old was reportedly set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer next season.
