? Man City launch new home kit for 2022/23 season

Manchester City have officially unveiled their striking new home kit for the 2022/23 season.

The kit ‘celebrates’ Club legend Colin Bell, who was famously nicknamed ‘Colin the King’ by the fans.

Bell was inspirational for the Club for a decade and in 1967/68, he was the driving force in a side that won its first league title in 31 years.

The new 2022/23 home kit echoes the classic designs of the past, placing the Club crest at the centre of the light blue jersey with signature maroon trims on the sleeve cuffs.

The crown logo placed inside the neckline pays tribute to ‘Colin the King’.

“The new Manchester City home kit is a fitting tribute to classic City home kits styles of the past. We wanted to create a modern spin on the jerseys worn between 1967 to 1971,” said Marco Mueller, Senior Head of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel.

“The maroon trim was an important detail because this was an iconic colour seen on many of the previous City home kits. The jersey is a great homage to the entertaining teams of old and the exciting free-flowing football of the current City team.”

The club has however not confirmed whether the kit will debut this weekend during the last Premier League match of the season.
