Bayern hopeful of keeping Lewandowski

Bayern Munich are still hopeful of keeping star man Robert Lewandowski this coming season.

The Poland international has just one year left on his contract with Bayern and has been linked with a move away with Barcelona his preferred destination.

The club’s executive director, Oliver Khan, speaking on Sunday, insisted the striker has a year left on his contract, and he will honour it.

“It’s not something that causes us a headache. We made an offer to his agent. He rejected this offer”, he said.

Adding: “The fact is: Lewa has a contract and he will fulfill it. Stop, basta!”, Kahn added.

In a separate interview, the club’s president Herbert Hainer reiterated the same.

Despite the club insisting Lewandowski won’t leave this summer, the striker has reportedly agreed on a three-year deal with the Catalan club.

In the event Lewandowski leaves, Bayern have been linked with a move for Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.
