Mo Salah: I am the best player in the world

Mohamed Salah has declared himself to be the best player on the planet.

When Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final on May 28th in Paris, the Egyptian will lead the line.

“If you compare me with any player in my position, not only in my team but in the world, you will find that I am the best,” he said in comments to beIN Sports carried by Goal.

Salah, 29, has had an outstanding season. In a Liverpool team that still has a chance to win all four trophies available this season, he has 30 goals and 16 assists.

Salah will go up against Karim Benzema, who can genuinely challenge the Egyptian’s claim to be the greatest in the world. This season, Benzema has 44 goals and 15 assists, and he has already won La Liga and the Supercopa de Espana. He’s at a pivotal point in his career.

Salah, on the other hand, is seeking vengeance against Madrid. He was a member of the Liverpool squad that lost to Los Blancos in the 2018 Champions League final in Kyiv, when he was injured by Sergio Ramos, thereby ending his World Cup with Egypt in Russia.
