Michael Essien was ruled out of the campaign for the Black Stars on Thursday and as the deadline for the submission of the final squad approaches, Milovan Rajevac is facing at least two key decisions about Mensah and Badu over their involvement in the tournament.
Badu picked up an injury towards the end of the Serie A season and has not recovered fully. He has mostly been doing light training at the team base in Paris and while team officials will not necessarily fret over his absence, they will be worried about John Mensah.
The defender’s season at Sunderland was marred by injuries including in his final appearance against Manchester United when he lasted only 17 minutes.
He has done little contact training with the rest of the squad in Paris and the signs for his participation in the tournament, KickOffGhana.com understands are not good.
