Mohamed Salah continued his impressive start to life at Trabzonspor by scoring the opening goal against Amed Sportif in the Turkish league on Monday evening.
The Egypt captain struck in the 11th minute to put Trabzonspor ahead in their third-round fixture, adding another early highlight to his first season with the Turkish club.
Salah’s goal came from a sudden break. He collected the ball around the halfway line and raced clear of the Amed Sportif defence before rounding off the move by finding the back of the net.
Mohamed Salah opens the scoring for Trabzonspor
The finish underlined the attacking influence Salah has already brought to Trabzonspor since joining the club during the summer transfer window. His latest goal also extended a remarkable scoring sequence that began during his first league appearances for the side.
Salah had already made a decisive contribution in the previous round, when Trabzonspor defeated Basaksehir 2-1. The forward scored both of his team’s goals in that match, securing the points with a two-goal performance.
His strike against Amed Sportif took his total to three goals in the opening stages of his Turkish league career. It also represented another important moment after he began Trabzonspor’s campaign as a substitute in their opening-round draw with Kasımpasa.
After coming off the bench against Kasımpasa, Salah made his first league start for the club against Basaksehir and immediately made a major impact by scoring twice. He then followed that display with another goal in his next appearance, maintaining his strong early form.
The goal against Amed Sportif arrived only 11 minutes into the match, allowing Salah to make his presence felt before the contest had settled. His run from near the centre of the pitch created the opportunity, with the Egyptian taking advantage of the space in front of him to go one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper.
For Trabzonspor, Salah’s contribution provided an early advantage in their third league fixture. For the player, it continued a sequence that has seen him score in each of his first two starts and reach three goals across his opening league outings.
The Egypt international’s rapid adaptation has made him one of the main attacking figures in Trabzonspor’s early campaign. After playing a supporting role as a substitute in the draw with Kasımpasa, he became the central figure in the victory over Basaksehir and again supplied the breakthrough against Amed Sportif.
Salah’s latest finish therefore added another entry to his productive start in Turkey, with his goal coming shortly after the match began and continuing his run of influential performances for Trabzonspor.
