Nigeria’s Super Eagles have resumed training in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff semi-final against Gabon on Thursday.
The team had briefly boycotted training on Tuesday over unpaid bonuses, but captain William Troost-Ekong announced the issue had been resolved, saying, “Issue RESOLVED. We are together and as before focussed on the games ahead!”.
The squad, led by coach Eric Chelle, has 21 players in camp, with three more expected to join before the Gabon clash.
Key players like Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi, and Moses Simon are among those preparing for the match.
A win would see Nigeria face either Cameroon or DR Congo in the playoff final on November 16.
The winner of this playoff will advance to the intercontinental playoffs in March 2026, with a chance to qualify for the World Cup in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
