Black Queens midfielder Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah is rallying support ahead of the crucial Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier against Egypt.
Ghana boasts a 3-0 lead from the first leg, courtesy to goals from Doris Boaduwaa, Mary Amponsah, and Grace Asantewaa.
“I’m looking forward to seeing as many faces as possible in the crowd. I’m excited to perform my first home game in front of all of you. I’m looking forward to it. I hope to see you all there,” she said.
The Black Queens aim to secure their spot in the 2026 WAFCON with a positive result in the return leg at the Accra Sports Stadium on October 28.
Boye-Hlorkah highlighted the importance of fan support, stating that the audience would play a significant role in their performance. The Black Queens are currently lodged at the Erata Hotel and will resume training ahead of Tuesday’s match. However, reports suggest the players are protesting unpaid bonuses from the 2024 WAFCON, which might impact their preparation.
