Koowa-Naso were crowned champions of the 2025 Thomas Partey Tournament on Friday after a thrilling 3-1 win over defending champions D-Wise XI in the final.
The tournament, which featured 12 teams, showcased young talent and attracted local and international scouts, with a $1,000 cash prize up for grabs.
Both finalists had intense semi-final matches, with Kowa Naso beating Field Masters 2-1 and D-Wise XI winning 6-5 on penalties after a goalless draw against Sporting Club.
Samuel Ziga, Public Relations Officer for the tournament, praised the progress made since its debut.
“It’s been massive — a significant improvement on what we experienced last year,” he said. “We had the main man himself, Thomas Partey, present. Everyone was thrilled to have him here for this special occasion.”
Ziga highlighted Thomas Partey’s personal commitment to the project, saying, “This project is dear to his heart… he wants to support the young players who aspire to become professionals.”
The next edition of the tournament is scheduled for December, with high expectations already building for another memorable event.
