Referee El Mabrouk Mohamed will be in charge when Ghana take on Guinea in their final Group A match at the ongoing 2023 U-23 Africa U20 Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Morocco.

The Black Meteors find themselves in a must-win situation for the West African derby scheduled for the Grand Stade de Tanger on Friday, June 30.

For the 20:00 GMT kickoff game, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) handed the Libyan centre referee Wael Hannachi (Tunisia) and Youssef Mohamed Mahmoud (Mauritania) as assistants.

Algerian Gamouh Youcef returns as Fourth Referee for a second game involving Ghana at this tournament. He played the role in the 3-2 victory against Congo.

The Match Commissioner will be Bouhtane Said from Comoros.

Though tied on three points each from two games, Guinea hold a superior goals advantage over Ghana. They merely need to avoid defeat while the Black Meteors must win the game in order to join hosts Morocco into the semifinals of the U-23 Afcon

The competition’s winner and the two runners-up will earn Africa’s three spots for the men’s soccer competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
