Two errors cost Ghana two valuable points against Egypt In their second Group B game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mohammed Kudus scored twice but two errors gifted the record winners the equalising goals in quick succession.

The draw leaves Ghana bottom of the group with just one point.

Here’s how each Black Stars player is rated out of 10.

Richard Ofori – 3

Better than what he did against Cape Verde but still should not have started ahead of Lawrence Ati-Zigi.

Denis Odoi – 4

Decent on the day but still lacked pace to much the Egyptian players. The assist for Ghana’s second goal was the highlight of his performance.

Gideon Mensah – 3.5

Put in a very good shift throughout the game and was part of the somehow better defensive organisation we’ve seen.

Alexander Djiku – 4

Again came up very strong and aggressive, doing the cleaning decently.

Mohammed Salisu – 4

Really sorted out his blunders that cost us against Cape Verde and his character was better.

Salis Abdul Samed – 4.5

Fantastic match from the Lena midfielder.

Majeed Ashimeru – 6

Was the engine of the team until he was subbed off because of a small injury.

Jordan Ayew – 5

Helped Ghana a lot with his ball retention though

Antoine Semenyo – 3.5

Played a very decent game and worked hard throughout.

Iñaki Williams – 1.5

A player of his class should have been much more aware of what was going on around him and not gift a goal to Egypt.

Mohammed Kudus – 8

An absolutely inspirational performance in a team that lacked spirit. His two goals were the sealing of his fabulous display.

Subs

Iddrisu Baba – 2.5
Osman Bukari – 1
Joseph Paintsil – N/A
Elisha Owusu – N/A
