Bofoakwa Tano made their home advantage count after beating Karela United to return to winning ways in matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Sunyani-based club prevailed with a 2-1 win over Karela United at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Sunday, courtesy goals from Sammy Osae Akoto and Saaka Dauda.
Before this game, Bofoakwa Tano had suffered defeat in their previous fixture against Bibiani Goldstars. However, the Premier League returnees ensured they return to winning ways after cruising over the visitors.
Putting on a stellar performance, the home team opened the scoring through Sammy Osae Akoto after 35 minutes into the game as they went to the halftime break with the advantage.
After recess, Karela United stepped up their game and subsequently pulled parity in the much-anticipated clash. Mohammed Asigre fired home his sides equalizer in the 65th minutes mark.
But captain Saaka Dauda, who has been Bofoakwa Tano’s main man in the ongoing campaign scored to ensure the three maximum points remain in Sunyani.
Dauda scored the winning goals in the 72nd minute nark to propel his side to merit the three maximum points at stake.
Despite securing victory, Bofoakwa Tano still find themselves in the relegation drop. Theyr are 16th on the league standings with 26, one point behind Karela United.
Meanwhile, Karela United is one place up of the relegation zone. They sit 15th spot with 27 points.
