Ghana have touched down in Osaka to participate in the 2022 edition of the four-nation Kirin Cup Soccer tournament organized by Japan.
The Black Stars took off from Luanda Monday evening via Ethiopian Airlines and arrived in Osaka at 23:20Hrs – where players, coaches and officials went through the mandatory COVID-19 tests and other protocols as well as immigration procedures before moving to the ANA Crown Plaza Hotel in Kobe.
Coach Otto Addo’s team head into the tournament fresh after their two matches in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifiers against Madagascar and the Central African Republic. Ghana picked 4 points from the two matches following a 3-0 and 1-1 results in the June 1 and 5 games respectively.

The tournament will give the Black Stars technical team the platform to test their strength ahead of the Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup later in November.
Ghana joins hosts Japan who will be represented by the Samurai Blue, Chile and fellow Africans in Tunisia.
The Kirin Cup Soccer is a two-round tournament that will have four games played on two separate days on Friday, June 10 in Kobe and Tuesday the 14th in Osaka.
Hosts Japan will host Ghana at Noevir Stadium in Kobe on June 10.
The second game for the Black Stars comes off four days later at the Panasonic Stadium in Osaka against either Chile or Tunisia.
