2022 FIFA World Cup: Decision to take off Mohammed Kudus was poor

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has descended heavily on Black Stars coach Otto Addo for substituting Mohammed Kudus in the 3-2 reverse against Portugal on Thursday evening.

Gyan is not the only foot brain to criticise the coach for his decisions in the game with former Rangers manager Ally McCoist bashing him for wasting the Ajax star.

He was obviously Ghana’s best performer in the game as he attempted 2 shots with 1 on target and provided Andre Ayew with the assist to level the scoring for Ghana.

He touched the ball 41 times. He also completed 4 dribbles – the highest by any player on the Stadium 974 field. He offered 3 crosses into enemy territory and made 1 tackle.

“The decision to substitute Kudus Mohammed was entirely wrong. This is a player that has just assisted Andre Ayew to score so why do you have to take him off the game? It was a poor decision because he could have produced a magical moment for the side,” he said on Supersport TV.
