Confederation of African Football has confirmed the return of it’s awards on July, 21 after a two-year hiatus due to Coronavirus pandemic.
The ceremony is set to be staged prior to the final of Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco which is scheduled to take place between 2 July – 23 July, 2022.
There are several categories to be presented with the most coveted prize being the Player of the Year (Men & Women).
Other categories are the Young Player of the Year, National Team of the Year, Coach of the Year, Club of the Year, Goal of the Year.
The awards also makes a return with new categories including Interclubs Women Player of the Year following the successful maiden edition of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in November 2021.
The winners will be decided by votes from captains and coaches of the Member Associations, selected journalists, CAF Technical Study Group and CAF Legends.
The period under review is from September 2021 to June 2022.
Senegalese and soon-to-be Bayern Munich new signing, Sadio Mane and Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala were adjudged the African Player of the Year Men and Women respectively.
