? 10 things we learned in the Premier League this weekend

There were huge ramifications for clubs at both ends of the Premier League table this weekend as game week 36 came to a close.

Here are ten things we learned, starting with the Bees’ impressive record at the Brentford Community Stadium.

? Brentford 3-0 Southampton

Brentford is only the fourth side to keep four consecutive home clean sheets this season, after Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

? Burnley 1-3 Aston Villa

Danny Ings is only the second player to score in four consecutive Premier League appearances against a team he’s played for in the competition, along with Craig Bellamy v Newcastle between 2007 and 2011.

? Chelsea 2-2 Wolves

At 96min 29sec, Conor Coady’s equaliser was Wolves’ second-latest Premier League goal since exact times became available (from 2006-07), after Raúl Jiménez v Burnley in 2019 (96min 55sec).

? Crystal Palace 1-0 Watford

Crystal Palace has kept a clean sheet in four consecutive Premier League home matches for the first time.

? Brighton 4-0 Man United

This defeat leaves Manchester United on 58 points with one Premier League match remaining, guaranteeing that 2021-22 will feature their lowest points total in an EPL campaign, fewer than the 64 of 2013-14.

?? Liverpool 1-1 Spurs

Son Heung-Min became just the second Tottenham Hotspur player to score 20 Premier League goals in a season without any of them being penalties after Gareth Bale in 2012-13 (21).

? Arsenal 2-1 Leeds

Eddie Nketiah put Arsenal 2-0 up after 10 minutes, becoming only the second Arsenal player to score twice in the opening 10 minutes of a Premier League match after Nwankwo Kanu (against Sunderland in October 2002).

?? Leicester 1-2 Everton

Vitalii Mykolenko is the first Ukrainian to score a Premier League goal for Everton, the 39th different nationality to find the net in the competition for the Toffees, the sixth most of all clubs.

? Norwich 0-4 West Ham

It is only the third time in the Premier League that West Ham has won a Premier League away match by at least a four-goal margin, with the other times coming against Derby in November 2007 (5-0) and Norwich in their last league visit to Carrow Road in July 2020.

? Man City 5-0 Newcastle

João Cancelo provided his 10th assist of the season in all competitions, the fourth Manchester City player to reach this total in 2021-22 (De Bruyne 13, Foden 11, Jesus 11). City are the only team in Europe’s five major leagues to have four or more different players reach 10 assists in all competitions this season.

What a weekend! And there are plenty more thrills and spills in store this week with action spanning Tuesday to Thursday.
