?Gotze complete Bundesliga return

Mario Götze has completed a return to the Bundesliga after joining Eintracht Frankfurt on a three-year deal.

The World Cup winner had been linked with a series of clubs after resurrecting his career with PSV Eindhoven but Frankfurt has won his signature after reportedly paying €4m for the attacking midfielder; the move activating a release clause in his PSV contract.

In a statement, the German club said: “Eintracht Frankfurt continues to work on the squad for the new season and has agreed on a contract with Mario Götze until 2025.

“The 30-year-old has played 77 times over the past two seasons for PSV Eindhoven, with whom he won the 2021 Dutch Supercup and 2022 National Cup, contributing 18 goals and 18 assists each.”
Götze won two Bundesliga titles with Borussia Dortmund before moving to Bayern Munich in 2013.

The Germany international went on to win three more league titles in as many seasons and scored the only goal in the 2014 World Cup final before he returned to Dortmund in 2016.

A second stint with Dortmund lasted four years before Götze moved to the Netherlands, where he scored 11 goals and provided 13 assists in the Eredivisie and Europa League over the course of the last two seasons.

In total, the 30-year-old has won five championships, four DFB Cups, the UEFA Supercup and the FIFA Club World Cup with top German clubs
