????: Rescuers search for Christian Atsu in rubble after Turkey quake – report

Ghanaian player Christian Atsu is reportedly among people trapped under rubble after a tragic earthquake in Turkey in the early hours of Monday.

Multiple reports from Turkey, a search-and-rescue operation is underway to find the winger who is suspected to have been caught up in the 7.7 magnitude quake.

Atsu, 31, switched to Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor from Saudi side Al-Raed last summer.

Two players and two technical team members of Hatayspor have been rescued by specialists after the earthquake struck.

But it’s claimed that Atsu and Hatayspor’s sporting director Taner Savut remain missing.

The earthquake hit hard in Kahramanmaras, where Hatayspor are based.

Two players and members of the technical staff were “pulled out of the rubble” in a dramatic rescue operation.

And efforts remain ongoing to find Atsu and Savut as quickly as possible.

Over 1,000 people are believed to have died in the earthquake that struck Turkey around 4 am on Monday morning.

Just yesterday, Christian Atsu struck a 97th-minute winner for Hatayspor against Kasimpasa.
